What are the differences between RSX Type S 2005-2006 models?

I have read that 2005 RSX Type S got Cams,Exhaust and Throttle body bore!!!! Made 10 more horsepower and 2lbs torque only in that YEAR!! Then Revised back to 201 horses in 2006. Why only ONE YEAR?? Efficiency? What other changes or differences from 2005-2006.

The dyno test done by the manufacture had been change to include the power steering pump and ac compressor.

none
Reply:The SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) changed their standards for dyno-ing a car (finding how much crank hp/tq the engine makes) for 2006+ cars. In 2005 the RSX engine changed from the K20A2 to the K20Z1 engine which with the old standards (pre 2006) the engine was rated with 210 HP, but when Honda switched to the new standards the engine was only rated 201 HP. If that makes sense. There is no difference between 05 and 06, they just measured it different both years.

The cams/exhaust/throttle body changes you speak of are the differences between the K20A2 motor and the K20Z1. So the Z1 DOES make more HP than the A2, they just happened to change the standards of measuring right after the Z1 came out. If the new standards had been out all along the 02-04 RSX-S would have been rated around 190-195 HP.

But yeah short answer is, no difference from 05-06, but major differences from 04 to 05. So if you get one it is better to get an 05 or 06 model.
