1986 Dodge areis K whats this light mean???

ON the dash of my areis theres a light that says "Power loss" does anyone know what this light means?? any help would be appreciated thx

It is equivalent to a check engine light on later model cars. The ECM has seen a failure and stored a code. These cars can be checked by activating the on-board diagnostics. This is done by turning the key from on to off three times (do not crank or start) on-off-on-off-on. The power loss will flash two digit codes. The first blink will be one, one two count this is code twelve (essentially start of message). It may repeat each code three times before going to the next. The last two digit code will be 55 this is end of message. You should then be able to find out the code meanings and further diagnose. I usually check codes multiple times to get a correct count. I hope this explanation was clear enough to understand.

25- Air Idle speed motor or circuit issue, (either the AIS motor or related wiring is faulty)


26 Injector peak current not reached


Typically this has to do with the wiring near the throttle body, check the wiring harness after removing the air filter housing, you will likely find that the harness has melted or broken apart due to heat, or oil contamination. Also check to see if the ground wire at the rear of the head is still intact and connected, these are the most common point of failure on the 2.2/2.5 4cyl.
