Engines come in and out and are not reliable indicators. Give the serial number to a General Motors dealer and ask for help, which they may or may not give. Otherwise direct to GM Technical Support which will not see any real business merit to the question, sorry. You should provide descriptions or pictures and all kinds of enthusiasts like me might help! Good luck!

post the VIN number or go to dealerships with the VIN number they can look it up
Reply:How old are you talking about? The 1930's, the 50's, or what? If it's from the 50's, simply look at the taillight lenses, and you'll see a 2-digit number which will tell you the year model.
Reply:Open the door and look at for a sticker in the door well. It should have the birthday of the car and location that it was built.





Or it can be located in the vin number.
