I have the new a/c compressor for my 2001 Plymouth Neon...how do I replace it?

If anyone can direct me to any links where I can see the replacement actually demonstrated, it would be even better!

Thanks

You cannot do this unless you have a way to evacuate and collect all old freon and accuratley recharge the system, and when you replace the compressor there are other parts that have to be replaced because you opend the system. If you dont know how its best to let a professional do it for you.

An a/c job is more than just changing the compressor. At a bare minimum you will also need to change the accumulator. But here goes. Once you have removed any freon that is left in the system by means of a recycler you can remove the old compressor. You will want to disconnect the lines first. then you need to remove the accumulator and flush the lines with a/c flush then replace the accumulator and compressor. Make sure you change the o-rings on the lines. Once you have everything back together you will need to pull a vacuum using a vacuum pump for about 45 min. Have your gages hooked up to the lines while doing this so you can see that it is actually pulling a vacuum. After the 45 min shut the pump off and let it sit for about 30 min. If the needles on the gages don't move your system is sealed and you are now ready to charge it up with freon. start your car turn the a/c on high and left freon into your system using to low side of your gages let a small amount in at a time and allow it to go through the whole system. Your stopping point should be 30psi on the low side and 200 on the high side. I don't recommend you do this with out someone there that knows what they are doing. you could hurt yourself. but if you must good luck feel free to email me your questions.
