What are the best spark plugs to use on a '96 BMW 328i?

i changed my old ones out about a week ago. The plugs that were recommended by the part store had only one electrode. when i took my old plugs out it had four. now my car seems sluggish. are these plugs required? did the part store give me the wrong plugs?

FACTORY, FACTORY FACTORY

im not sure which type it is, but call bmw dealer and ask for the parts section, then ask which plugs are the factory plugs for your car. this can be very imortant these days. you may not have to buy them from the dealer, another parts store may sell them, but the dealer will tell you what brand and type they are. platnum or not, double plat, quad plat, etc

i think they originally came with Bosch platinum in them, you can go back with the same type that you took out, but it didn't come with those in it i don't think, those that you took out are a very expensive plug and do fire real good, they probably gave you what the book called for on the car,you can call and check with them but usually they give you what the factory recommends to use in it,good luck with it.
Reply:Bosch!
Reply:Original spark plugs are either supplied by NGK or Bosch. Both brands are in general very good, just make sure to get spark plugs with the appropriate spark gap.

The difference between the spark plugs with 1 prong and 4 prongs above the electrode is that the 4 prong variety will usually last longer. Ever time the spark plug is fired, a very small amount of the prong is burned away. With 4 prongs, the spark will have 3 alternative prongs if one gets burned away.

Good plugs to choose for a BMW are any of the Bosch Platinum series or NGK Laser Platinum or Laser Iridium.
