How do I install a new fuel pump with only two hose connections??

My stock fuel pump on my 87' carbureted 305 camaro has three hose connections. All the fuel pumps I can find have just two. Is there a way to make it work with just two?? I already bought a holley pump and cant return it is there a way to install it although it only has two hose connections and the stock pump has three??

I own a shop, a drag car %26amp; truck, and think this; You got the wrong pump, and it won't work so good. The reason for three lines is this; One is for fuel from the tank to the inlet on the pump, and the second is (outlet) for fuel to go to the carburetor, and the third is a return line to the tank. You can plug off the return line, and it will work, but it may push fuel past the float in the carburetor. The stock pump pushes more fuel than it needs, so when it reaches X amount of pressure on the line, the rest of excess fuel is sent back to the tank. This type of system works best, as it maintains a constant level of pressure no matter what the demand is at the carburetor. You should have no more than 5-7 psi on the the fuel line to the carb, and if there is more, then you have two options. You can return the excess back to the tank, or install a pressure regulator between the pump, and the carburetor. Maybe you can sell the Holly pump, and buy one from the dealer for it. You will be glad you did, as this (Holly) pump can cause all kinds of flooding issues with the carburetor if it pumps more than the recommended pressure. Too much pressure will push fuel right past the needle valve in the carburetor, and over fill the fuel bowl. Then it will begin to spill over into the engine, and then out the vent of the bowl an onto the engine. This is a fire waiting to happen, so keep an eye on it if you decide to install the Holly pump anyway.

Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!
