Im thinking about getting headers?

for my dodge truck.. and im not sure what kind/brand to get?? like shorty or longtube??
Im thinking about getting headers?
Long tubes give better low end torque... I havent messed around with this HotRod stiff in years but do remember Hooker Headers were real nice... Avoid Hedman headers (assuming they are still around)--- Those rusted out in 18 months and had to be replaced....

shorty's are good if your going to do a custom exhaust on it otherwise long tube give better performance ,or they supposed to i had a set of each and couldn't tell that much difference in either set, with both sets ran through true duals on a ram truck it was hard to tell the difference in them, mine was made be headman ,they make a real good header that last really good, but do your self a favor and spring for the stainless steel one or the ceramic coated ones, they last real good and don't rust, the cost a lot more but are worth it,you wont be replacing them ever 3-4 years, long tube ones are easier to run exhaust on though, good luck with it.
Reply:TTi makes the best header going today for a Dodge. You didn't say what engine your running or what year. So I'll give you this

for both engines. There is Dyno proof that the Magnum LA 5.2 and 5.9 likes long tube headers with 7/8th inch primaries. 10 hp over the short header. But the 5.7 Hime likes the short header, on it the short header makes 12 more hp. Average gain was 20hp on both engines. But with a jet chip and headers you can get about 60hp across the board.
